Francisco Corbett recently gave our Kingston store a fun re-vamp and we are thrilled to tell you more about him and his work.

"My name is Francisco Corbett and I am 24 years old. My career is about pushing boundaries and showing other artists they can strive to do this as well. Rooted in these values myself I have started a youth arts collective named, FORWORLD Studios based in Kingston Ontario that is made to connect young artists to their artwork and the art world around them. I prove that pushing boundaries in the artist's personal work leads to freedom in life and creation, thus allowing artists to become more impactful and grander in their work. I am currently practicing art professionally and continue working on building my own platform to create a sustainable career and life for myself, my work proposes the viewer can do this as well. Everyone should do art. Everyone should be free.

About the Mural!

"The mural that stands before you was created with the intention to show Kingston its possibilities and ever changing landscape. The future of this city lies with you, the viewer, and it is our responsibility to create a more vibrant city for our friends, family, and most importantly, for ourselves. The artwork in front of you contains this message in ten fold and serves as a reminder to oneself to step out of your comfort zone, take charge, and see the world for what it is, colourful. 

Take some time to look around, get up close and be present. Allow yourself a moment to be pulled in, immersed in your own emotion. How does it make you feel? Hold onto that.
